Low cost life (to Nancy Fraser)

The picture is mounted on a frame of 100 x 42 cm from IKEA.

This picture points to the consequences of globalisation in the labour market. It’s specifically inspired by a phrase from the North American philosopher Nancy Fraser: “Low cost: You pay less and soon you will be paid less”.

It’s a way of seeing and understanding how the cycle drives us from production of low cost goods to reduction of salaries and precarity.

Low cost life has been on display at the following locations: “Breathing time”, Centre de la Imatge Mas Iglesias de Reus (2013).
